Working with Categories
The user portal displays all applications that the user has access to, regardless of whether the authorization is applied at the application level or category level.
Note: If an application is part of multiple categories, the user will see it listed in each category. To prevent this, ensure that the application is assigned to only one category, with the Show in Applications Portal checkbox set to true.
Categories serve two purposes:
- To manage access – Uncheck the Show in Applications Portal checkbox.
- To group applications for display purposes only – Do not assign any identities to these categories.
The best practice is to create categories with the Show in Applications Portal checkbox set to false for access management, and categories with the Show in Applications Portal checkbox set to true for display purposes only. For more on this option, see Adding Application Categories.
Each application should belong to a single category, and the category name should reflect its functional description or location, without including authorization-related details (e.g., "vendor-1" or "vendor-B").
